May 2019: Three songs for voice and piano, commissioned by the Regent Park School of Music in Toronto, will be given their world première at the school by the students. Composing these three songs, to poetry written by students in the community, was one of the most rewarding experiences in my composing life.

June 8, 2019: A new work for strings, ehru, santoor and sho – commissioned and performed by the Vancouver Inter-Cultural Orchestra at the Waterfront Theatre in Vancouver.

July 19, 2019:  Heather Pawsey soprano, Megan Latham mezzo-soprano, and Leslie Uyeda, pianist, will give the world première of Your Breath, My Breath: Dialogue for a Mother and Daughter – a 45′ dramatic scene for mezzo and soprano. The exquisite extended poem, in the form of a conversation between a mother and daughter, was written for me by Lorna Crozier OC, one of Canada’s most gifted poets. The performance will be part of the Saskatchewan Writers Festival in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
